Truth Time: I love shopping! Like, a little too much, according to my husband. I am guilty of spending a little too much money on items from higher end stores but also dropping serious dough in stores that aren’t as costly. I just can’t say no to a good deal or a cute item that I feel I need to have in my life! Enter ThredUP, this is an amazing AND budget friendly secondhand website that is offering deals for both moms and minis!

Mama & Mini Style on a Budget

My shopping addiction knows no bounds in regards to my children. I love finding unique items for my kids or paying a little extra for something of great quality that I think may last them a few seasons. Shopping is just something I love to do and like many women I don’t think it is going to change any time soon!

One thing I have always loved is second hand shopping. I have found unique pieces for our home & clothes for our entire family from garage sales, second hand shops, and Craigslist. Some of my most beloved items have come gently used! This is why I was so excited to work with ThredUP, which basically combines my love of online shopping and second hand scores.

ThredUP has looks for both mama and the little ones, which I love. They even let you sell your gently used items which is great for me because I am always trying to clean out my closet as well as my kids closet. Their homepage features deals as low as under $10! You can find anything from maternity items to jewelry to handbags and shoes on ThredUP. One of my favorite categories that they offer is their designer deals. Who doesn’t want to score designer and name brand items at a DEEP discount? I scored a gorgeous Free People shawl for less than $30!

I recently was able to scoop some items up from ThredUP and let me just say, I was SO impressed by the quality. Sometimes when you by second hand you may question the overall appearance of the item, everything I got from ThredUP was exactly as described and looked brand new. It also came adorably packaged and had the “ThredUP” tag on it so you know it was checked for overall quality. I grabbed over $300 (retail price) in items for less than $150. Here’s a look at some of my awesome haul!

It is no secret that I am yoga obsessed. I was thrilled to find that ThredUP offered budget friendly secondhand LuLulemon. I am so obsessed with these turquoise capri length pants I found and they fit perfectly. I also scooped up a fun bright pink Fila top to complete the workout look. I am pretty sure I will live in this look all summer during the warmer months!  You can shop their current selection of active pants here & active tops here!

Another look I want to share with you is one I am hoping to carry over to this spring and it incorporates my love of neutrals and stripes!

How adorable is this Baby Gap dress I scored for Marley this summer?! For the kids I went looking for some bigger sizes that I want them to wear this spring/summer and this fit the bill perfectly. This dress could work this spring with some cute flats and a jean jacket. ThredUP’s girl department had so many adorable options for the little ladies!

Another cute find for Marley was this swim suit cover up by Hanna Anderson. I had such a hard time finding a cute coverup for her last summer so I was thrilled to find an option that I LOVE at a deep discount in ThredUP’s girl department.

I am also loving ThredUP’s boys department. It can be hard finding cute and stylish toddler and baby outfits for little boys but I was so impressed with the selection that ThredUP offers. I snagged a cute school shirt for Kellan and a new t-shirt for this spring and summer. Also, am I the only one losing my kid’s gloves on the regular? When I saw that ThredUP had a section for kid’s accessories I knew I had to grab an extra pair for the kids. We are always misplacing one (kind of like socks). You can never have too many pairs of gloves!

Lorena Canals Rugs

Best Rugs for a Living Space with Kids

I know many of you can relate to feeling the “decorating itch” in your own homes. After the Christmas decorations went down I was feeling a little tired of how our living room was looking. Enter Lorena Canals Rugs and this space was instantly transformed!

Our living room space is really a multi-functional space for our family. My kids run and play with toys in this area (we always have baskets of their toys in the area). We also use this space to watch movies or Football on Sundays and after the kids are in bed my husband and I like to tuck the toys away and light a fire in the fireplace and enjoy the quiet with a glass of wine. I love that the Lorena Canals rug can transform the room and works with both this being a place my children play and also a sophisticated spot for adults only.

Additionally, to update this room we’ve added in some new mantle decor. The space is feeling fresh for the new year but I still don’t feel like it is completely finished as we want a new couch. We’re still on the hunt for the right one!

Best Rugs for a Living Space with Kids

In the mean time one thing I am confident that fits the space perfectly is this amazing Lorena Canal rug. What initially drew me to this brand is that these rugs are machine washable (say what!?). You mean my kids can spill oatmeal and milk on it and I can just toss it in my laundry machine? Count me in! The variety of rugs they offer is truly so amazing and I had such a hard time narrowing it down. I loved so many of the rugs they have available!

In addition to these being low maintenance and easy to clean rugs, Lorena Canals also donates a portion of their proceeds to the Sakula Project and provides schooling to children in India. The rugs are made in India and designed in Spain and they are made of all natural dyes, handmade, eco, and contain no VOCs like most carpeting and rugs. Since this area of my home is a spot my children lounge or play in often, this was very important to me!

Favorite Clothing Stores & Brands

I am always on the hunt for a good clothing store option! I will be turning 30 in March so I feel like I am always looking for appropriate “mom” outfits that are also stylish! I want to share a few of my favorite stores to shop at. Please share your favorites in the comments!

Favorite Stores to Shop to Save Money & Look Cute!

Abercrombie & Fitch– I have recently become obsessed with A&F, much like I was at 16 years old haha! But for real, A&F has been so on point with trends lately for A LOT less than I remember things being when I was in high school. Their denim is still high quality and they have the coziest sweaters and fleece options. They also run sales OFTEN of up to 50% off, making things even more reasonable! It also doesn’t hurt that your clothes smell amazing for the first few times you wear them 😉

Loft– This is also a relatively new favorite of mine. I have always had hit or miss luck with Loft in the past but lately I am loving their cozy sweater options. They also often run sales of between 40-50% off so you can find really great deals!

Gap/Old Navy- You can never go wrong with these two sister brands. They offer cute clothing that compares look wise to much more expensive brands. I particularly love their workout gear, I wear a lot of their leggings and oversized athleisurewear.

Target- I couldn’t make this list and leave out my ALL time favorite one stop shop for everything! I generally am in a slight time crunch when I make my way into Targs but I love checking out the cute women’s clothing section. My favorite item’s to shop for at target are basic T’s and bathing suits surprisingly! Every spring/summer I flock to Target to find the cutest suits.

Free People– This brand is a little on the pricier side but I love the look of their items, particularly their oversized shirts. I love to browse the Free People section at my local Macy’s & Nordstrom Rack because they often offer additional discounts. On black Friday I scored this waffle knit oversized top for $38 (originally $68). It’s really comfortable and I wish I had it in all of the colors! I recommend sizing down if you buy this brand though.

Now, am I the only one who is wishing Forever 21 would open a Forever 31 store?! Please share other recommendations in the comments below!
