Round up of my top back to school style picks #stylepicks #backtoschool

Tis’ the season for back to school! School actually does not start here in NY for about 4 more weeks. I always loved back to school shopping as a kid, everything from pencils & notebooks to the clothes & shoes got me excited. I actually always saved my school clothes until the week of school (one must NOT wear prior to the start of school!!)

Our absolute FAVORITE backpacks this year are these pictured above by Parkland. They have so many cute styles that you can choose from. Doesn't hurt that they are also made from recycled bottles! You can use code BRITTANY10 to save 10% on your order through their website. Marley's style is The Parkland Edison Candy Hearts & Kellan is wearing the Parkland Edison Patches Retro.

Spring & Summer = Dress Season!

I am all about finding pretty & affordable spring fashion this year. I recently hit up my local Forever 21 and was so impressed with their dress selection. I’ve snagged quite a few of these for myself and wanted to share some that are still on my wish list. These are perfect options for date days/nights, weddings, casual hot days, vacations and even as swim suit cover-ups. Basically, you get some great all around dresses that can be worn multiple ways. Don’t forget you can shop all of my favorite picks this season for the kids and yourself by clicking on the shop my style link.

Affordable Spring Dresses #forever21

Listed below in order from top left to right

1// This gingham button front dress is a perfect everyday dress! Could be ideal for a memorial day party and dressed down with simple slides or a neutral wedge.

2// I own this striped dress from Forever 21 (seen here on my Instagram page) and love it! I wore this recently to a gender reveal party and it was perfect. I chose to pair it with a jean jacket and these sandals from Old Navy.

3// A simple yet cute black dress (I own this in two colors, can’t beat the $11 price!) I think this is the perfect date night dress. The simple colors make it so easy to pair a statement necklace, shoes or bag with!

4// This yellow flowy dress is screaming summer to me! I think this is one I’ll be living in during the warmer months.

5// I am loving how popular the gingham print is this season! There are so many pretty options out there with this pattern. It really looks good on everyone IMO too! I think this baby doll dress could even work as a maternity dress or possibly pair with a cute pair of denim shorts.

6// This long blue and green maxi is one of my favorite finds from Forever 21 recently. I love the colors and the pattern of the lines is so flattering. The model has this paired with strappy sandals and I love that! I could totally see this being worn as a bathing suite cover up too.

7// Can we just talk about how stunning this long blue striped dress is? I have a few weddings this season and this one will definitely be making an appearance to one of them. Perfect dress to make a statement and would really look great on any body type! Such a steal at less than $60!

8// At only $16 this cute off the shoulder dress is perfect for spring and into summer. This little number is already packed in my luggage for our upcoming vacation. I can’t wait to rock this by the pool and into the evening. It comes in a few colors too!

Talking about the importance of Earth Month and why I am choosing to embrace it with my children. #fashion #secondhandfirst #ThredUP

We are well into April aka Earth Month! In life we often get so busy we forget about important things like doing what we can do to help reduce our carbon footprint. I know that as a mom, I want my children to grow up in a less polluted world. We are making sure to talk to our children often this month about what we can do to help keep our environment clean for them and for future generations!

One way I choose to help reduce my own carbon (or Cotton) footprint is to shop online, rather than at big box stores. ThredUP is a great place to start and get some shopping done if your looking for stylish eco-friendly looks for the family. I can buy for myself and my children while sitting in my home! Thus reducing my need for and dependence on fossil fuel.

ThredUP is putting a focus on Earth Month with their Project Re:Made Tee-Shirt line. So what is this amazing line? It is Inspired by art that makes us rethink our views. Team ThredUP has commissioned 12 artists (whom they mostly found on Instagram!) to create artwork in response to the statement “Climate Change is Not Real”. The creations are a mix of cute, funny, ironic, and provocative tongue-in-cheek response to climate change denial. We then screen-printed the works onto secondhand white tees from our inventory and will be selling them starting on April 17th. All net proceeds benefit carbon offset non-profit Cool Effect who is fighting hard to reduce carbon pollution.
